Discussion and Supporting Materials

Thought starters

  1. Why do you think the teacher uses a writing lesson to reinforce the concept of author's purpose?
  2. How does the teacher create an understanding of how an author's purpose or intent influences their writing?
  3. In what ways do students demonstrate their understanding of writing for different purposes?

Great strategy for engagement. It also allowed classroom discussion. It helps the students know different stances that an author could take to get you to buy, purchase or watch something. It was a great lesson I believe the students were able to comprehend and enjoy. I will definitely use this method.
