Thought starters

  1. Which do you find the most challenging: Velocity of the Data, Integrating the Data, or Attending to the Data? Why?
  2. How does Ms. Harley use the chat effectively beginning at 08:23?
  3. How might you use the "Show Call" method in your classroom?

I just had a chance to view the video: Checking for Understanding in a Virtual World.

Some of the terminology was new and it was very helpful for Doug to name and summarize the process and virtual strategies being used to address data collection on the run. So nice to see how these teachers were authentic and intentional while honoring their student's processing.

Chat responses with time (4,3,2,1)/boundaries to make it manageble and useful for students and teachers.  Slowing down the thinking response to be effective. Show call was a new example for me.  I was reminded of how important it is to think about the culture of error and always being aware of having a psychological safe community.

Very helpful!!  Thank you for sharing!!
