Discussion and Supporting Materials

Thought starters

  1. How does the schoolwide leadership team support teachers' use of data?
  2. How could you use data carousels as a strategy for using data to improve instruction?
  3. How did the staff take an interdisciplinary approach to address the learning need exposed by the data carousel?

I really liked the way the entire school looked at the data and were willing to help the math teachers. Great tool for improvement.

The Date Carousel showed the effective ways to improve in all areas of learning.  It incorporated each method as a whole.  The results were good.  It showed improvement and  other ways to continue on this road for students testings.

Data collection is so very important and this method of help from the entire team was impressive watching the Math coach come into the class and express to the student how on task they are, was inspirirational

Data carousel is a great tool to use to improve instruction and test scores. It also allow students to analyze test scores and learn their strength and weaknesses. They get to see how they perform academically as a school as well as individually.

The data carousel is a great way to gather data on students and where they stand on subjects. I think this would be a great tool to use no matter what age and I would definitely love to use it even in pre- k classes. The data can be used to help the teachers identify what information or specific lesson needs to be advised and gone back over. If we can take the time and look at data from students and make changes from that, teachers will continue to grow as well as allow the students to progress.
