Discussion and Supporting Materials

Thought starters

  1. Why do you think students say they will remember this assignment forever?
  2. How does presenting and defending the proposal require a different level of understanding?
  3. What happens when Ms. Wessling is seen as a coach instead of an evaluator?

I really like this lesson. It is different, exciting and gives students hands-on experience with researching, planning and working together. This year, I plan to implement it in my ELA class. Sarah your lessons are always wonderful!

@Lauryn, What Sherri said! I'm so glad you've found multiple uses for the video and different pathways into the work the kids do on this project. All smiles here!

Greetings!

I am still using this video as I teach my credential students on how to write inquiry-based unit! Unfortunately, I am having an issue viewing it now, and it seems that others are too (as of recent!).

Is there any other way I can access it?!
