Discussion and Supporting Materials

Thought starters

  1. How similar is your supervision in distance or hybrid instruction compared to fully in-school instruction?
  2. How do you use data to make instructional leadership decisions?
  3. What have you learned during distance or hybrid instruction that you’d like to continue doing during fully in-school instruction?

This video made me cognizant of how supervision in a remote environment has changed from what traditional classroom instruction entailed. In this new virtual classroom, teachers may need to employ different strategies for ensuring student engagement and learning, whether it be having cameras on, having students unmute and participate or simply having them type an answer or thought into the chat.
