I think Ryan Dealing is an phenomenon young man. I love his teaching technics. The "Game Changer" is an awesome way to get students to use their critical thinking skills to build an foundation to life. He allow the students to step into the roles of the people, and they are enjoying themselves, yet they are learning. I like the way he create lessons based on hands on experiences. He asked opened ended questions, which suggests to me that it doesn't matter what age you are, you still need that problem solving technique to be present in your mind.

I love being able to "peek" into the classrooms of inspiring colleagues. Ryan's energy and vibrancy around teaching is evident--I can't help but be encouraged to go back to my own students and think up some amazing ways to help them become excited about learning. As a fellow PA ELA teacher, I admire the way Ryan is blending his innovation with that foundation of teaching the standards. Rooting for him in the NSTOY finals!
