I believe every teacher must find her/his own strategy to succeed in the classroom. However the main point is "to love what you do", without this, there is no meaning for any profession, specially teaching. Students have a special ability to sense teachers commitment and it is very important for the teacher to show empathy and sympathy for the struggling student.

Interviewer: [Music] What is your secret?

    Interviewee: What is my secret?

We are gonna come to the carpet silently, walking slowly so that we’re safe.

My kids know when I’m standing in the front of the room, it’s not about the money. It’s about them. It’s about having them be excited about school and realizing their possibilities and what they can be if they stick to it, and that hard work pays off.

[In unison with students] September first, 2010.

I will share with my students, school wasn’t easy for me. I struggled through school. I think that gives me a lot of empathy and a lot of sympathy for the struggling student.

Thank you for looking at me. I know that you wanna learn. What’s this letter?

    Interviewee: J.

Interviewee: The fact that I think that I’m a parent of a child who is a student here also makes a big difference. I always kind of look at myself and go, “Would I want my son in this classroom?”

    Interviewee: A, B, C, D, E, F, G.

Interviewee: What is my secret? I love what I do. I have wanted to teach since the age of three. It’s all I’ve ever wanted to do.

Put on your looking glasses. Put on your thinking caps.

    I just love being here.

[In unison with students] H-E-R-E, here, here, here.
