Discussion and Supporting Materials

Thought starters

  1. How does Mr. Dalton get students to take ownership for the class work?
  2. How do students get a chance to discover the theorem for themselves rather than being told what it is?
  3. How does the lesson move from open discovery to formal understanding?

I paid $40 to get the material that go with  Teacher of the Year Dan Walton pythagorean theorem lesson, and I am not able to download.  I am sure I am doing something wrong.  Could someone enlighten me.  Thanks in advance.

Wow! I applaud your method of student involvement and self discovery of the hypotenuse and relating it to the real world using the golf analogy! I also love the reinforcement via the CLUE game murder mystery. Excellent way to keep the class engaged and incorporate technology via texting! Well done!
