Discussion and Supporting Materials

Thought starters

  1. See how this school monitors student progress on a daily basis with ongoing informal assessment followed by timely interventions. What are the different ways that students are informally and formally assessed?
  2. How is parent involvement encouraged?

I love that the work is modified to fit their needs. The staff looks at it in terms of misconception to guide learning rather than seeing what they cannot do. Teachers scaffold the lessons and create opportunities to think creatively and solve problems for their students. The students can use, then apply their knowledge to everyday situations.  For those in need of 1:1 support, they use language to guide the learning and better understand their way of thinking.

The parents are encouraged to come in. The school also holds Inspire Workshops- to see how their children are learning in school and how they can support them at home as well. One parent shown incorporates storytelling and sign which keeps the children engaged and interactive. Through the workshops parents are in the know and the children can take it home, share about what goes on during the day, and be more involved- supporting the parents, to support their child. How AMAZING!

its a great way to assess students by using charts, cards ,and stamp pads . It helps to increase the ability of learning among student .also like the way parents get involved in helping students to be succeeded.

Students are assessed throughout charts, and work is modified which raises the ability of the student. Assessments are also made 1-1 which helps when collecting data.
