Communication (thru interviewing teachers), teamwork, researching, vetting sources, writing, self directed learning
There is a lot of research available online, but the standards for quality has dropped since anyone can post anything and become an "expert". By refocusing the question students can find more relevant research and narrow from the millions of hits into something smaller that is more maneagable.
Mr. Carpenter moves around the classroom and interacts with each student group to monitor. More than just observing, he interacts with each group. Asking leading questions enables him to see where each group is at in the process and also open them to new ideas to head towards.
