First of all, watching this video makes me wish I had these opportunities when I was in school. I had bad math teachers and created a phobia against it. I liked sciencebiology and anatomy, but never had a teacher that was inspiring and engaging. This video was also inspiring. Since I am a music teacher, I am going to research sound science experiments. My goal is to continue emphasizing how music is connected to everything. In addition, I liked how this video showed underrepresented groups in STEM field. Both gender and ethnicity were represented here and the kids were very engaged.

What light imaging app was used on the Ipads?

It looks like the boy opens the Photobooth app when he uses the iPad. I wonder how accurate this app would be in representing true heat differnces. It does not have a temperature associated with the image, thus, the reason why the students work is cimplimented by temperature probes. There are however actual Heat Transfer image apps, as well as associated camera hardware attachments for reading Heat transfer.
NOTE: I rewatched it and he DOES mention that it is NOT a heat imaging camera/app, but rather a light imaging camera, which does serve the purpose of heat differnces.
