I liked how she talked about the elemenrs of design. She used many different mediums to get kids engaged in this lesson. By modeling what fish look like she helped them succeed as many dont know how to draw. Her knowledge of art history is evident and the kids seemed to enjoy their class!

I am a dance studio owner and teacher for ages 3-15. I find this lesson very exciting and helpful. In our studio, we create our own props according to the theme of dance for the week, so this is something that I can take and create a lesson plan to utilize in my dance classes.

I noticed that you use multiple lessons for this project. How often do you see your students? I see students once a week for 45 minutes. I do not have any set-up time, and my planning is limited to 30 minutes per day (but that is often taken away with meetings). I teach 6 classes a day and there is little to no transition time between grade levels. I teach Pre-K through 5th grade. During a school year, I am lucky to see students 30 times, and it is difficult to present the art standards in that time frame. The average class size is 26 students. Please give me inspiration! I love your video and your calmness. I am a veteran teacher of 19 years, but I want to enjoy what I am doing. It feels like all I do is teach the standards, and I want to teach art.
