Discussion and Supporting Materials

Thought starters

  1. See how students improve their writing by dissecting the writing of others How might the lesson be used as a springboard into building research skills?
  2. How did the use of e-mails and text messages make the lesson more engaging and effective?

Reading formal or informal text was enjoyable to view and well done. I could see it being modified for other grade levels and it could easily include subjects topics such as social studies, current events, compare and contrast two different media forms etc.

I love the idea of this lesson. Do you think it would work well with 7th graders?

Loved, loved, loved the lesson as well! All students engaged....Variety of activities.....I, too, wish there had been attachments containing the notes, etc., from the lesson.

I loved her lesson. It is wonderful seeing lessons done from other countries and how they implement them. I was disappointed however, that there was no written lesson plan with all her objectives / notes/ transcript etc attached to this.
