Mrs. Lawrence helps build community by greeting each student at the door and ensuring dher classroom feels welcoming. It sounds like she spends lots of time building in her classroom management and foundations at the beginning of the year to save herself less time in the future.

Ms. Laurence clearly feels strongly about building community in her classroom. She does community building activities and greets her students in the morning. This helpes learners build self confidence because they feel safe and welcome in the classroom. This allows them to feel comfortable taking ownership and being themselves. Ms. Laurence has a positive attitude and she projects that onto her students.

Ms. Laurence startes buildimg community in the classroom by greeting her students with good morning, smile or hug. She greets some children with a high five. Ms. Laurance greeted each child with a welcoming smile and a high five or hug as they entered the classroom. In doing so, she made each child feel welcomed and valued. She then pulled the class together, sitting on the floor with them to talk about class expectations. The children discussed ideas in small groups, continuing the team/community theme.

Ms. Laurance immeditely makes kids feel welcome and part of the classroom with her morning routines. She gives positively shout outs when students are doing well and making good decisions. She didn't leave anyone out and made sure everyone felt they were part of the community/classroom.
