It is giving them some independence and some real-world experience. They treat this project like a job so it gives them some and teaches them some responsibility. The teacher is there for help but is letting them do most of it themselves. They use student roles, so they are owners of their own learning

True, with a team, it is best to utilize the talents/skills of each. The "budget keepers" were esential to success in order to make the project a total success. Communication thoughout the whole project with respect /questions and team work made this a real success. How to teach our students who are young and inmature this art is a challange.

Love the student ownership.  I think this would be good to stimulate my kids to work.  The project idea is where I am lacking that would work in my class, but things for me to think about so I can impliment at another time.
