As I am watching the video for a course I am taking for my graduate degree at Bank Street College of Education, I can’t help but notice that the teacher did not call on one of the only two students who are African American and called on the other twice. These two students raised their hands every time. The teacher called on certain other students who shared more than twice and for longer periods of time. The student on the left, who was never called on, started to move and get disengaged. This was very disappointing and made me sad, teared up thinking about how she must have felt.
